SINGAPORE, July 4, 2011 – NEC Asia Pacific (“NEC APAC”), a wholly owned subsidiary of NEC Corporation (“NEC”, HQ: Japan), has established the Asia Pacific Display Solutions Competency Centre (APAC DSCC) which starts operations officially in Singapore on 1 July.
Since 1980s, NEC has been developing and providing cutting-edge and innovative display products and solutions such as LCD monitors, projectors and digital signages, which are now a common sight and essential digital tools used in corporations, governments, and schools around the world. To meet the changing demands of society, NEC continues to evolve to provide world-class innovations required to meet the growing technological needs fuelled by the growing convergence of IT and communications. It is for this reason that NEC established the APAC DSCC within NEC APAC in Singapore, to collectively drive the growth of the display solutions market in this region.
Through a common regional strategy, the APAC DSCC aims to consolidate the display solutions businesses, thereby establishing a more consistent, efficient and effective regional operations. Spearheaded by Vincent Koh, who is also currently the Vice President of the Multi Media Platforms Business Unit in NEC APAC, he will be assisted by Masashi Takaya, Director of the Business Planning, who is also a veteran in the display solutions industry. The DSCC will focus on expanding its display solutions business, as well as strengthening its relationships with the display solutions business community in the region.
Starting with Indonesia and India, the APAC DSCC will have its product experts share technical, customer service support and marketing expertise with the display solutions business communities in these countries, to drive greater momentum in sales. Technology workshops and product training programmes are also special endeavors to educate partners on NEC’s product features, product segmentation and positioning.
